Need Don't Always Lead to Demand

Quoting Seth Godin's Blog:
"There are things that people vitally need... and yet providing it is no guarantee you'll find demand."

Our common mistake is making the decision that "we know" what people need. But we tend to forget, that they will "demand" for something else.

There's a whole lot of difference between the two.
...and it starts with talking to your customers, the people.

Quantifying Happiness

Money comes in numbers. Thus, money matters!
As the five happiest countries in the world -Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden and the Netherlands - are all clustered in the same region, and all enjoy high levels of prosperity.

But then again,

Compensation (rewards, salaries, etc.) + Close-Knit Society = HAPPINESS

World Cup: Creating Opportunities

I remember the saying that there is no "I" in team, but there is in WIN.

Football is a team sport, that very much depends on the individuals decisions and NOT their skills. The impact that you can give in every game is not how you score and how you defend, but rather how many times you have consistently given your team making those opportunities easier; offensively and defensively.

If you have watched the game of Germany vs Spain, Xavi was this kind of player. Offensively, he is the facilitator of Spain's offense, making a lot of opportunities for them. Defensively, his position at center mid-field controlled Germany's counter-attack.

For every team or organization, there is a person whom people surrounds to. A person whom they look up to and shall follow without question. He may not be the most popular and famous person in the world, but you will know his influence, once you see him perform.

Horoscope

One of the things to keep my sanity in place is reading the horoscope. An excerpt is found below:

"Dealing with jerks is a fact of life, and not everyone you meet is sweetness and light. Your job right now is to find some way to deal with them that helps you keep cool."

Sometimes you find amusement with how people "word" it out to get their message/s across.

I'll take anything to enjoy my day! Even people's sarcasms.

Who do you work for?

Seth Godin makes it simple:
"I work for you, what's next on my agenda to support you and help make your numbers go up?"

I have a different analogy. Better ask yourself, with the position and responsibilities that you have, "WHO ARE YOUR CUSTOMERS?"

Why Do We Quit?

Because its easy.

Its easy to back down whenever you are dazed and confused.
The problem at hand is too puzzling.
The expectations are too high.
These words are easy to say, to use to reason out.

What we forget is we resolve nothing when we quit.
Because we are afraid to confront and face what is ahead of us,
We always choose the easiest route. And we tend to forget that

"Quitters Never Win"

Meetings are Important

...ONLY IF there are Action Steps agreed upon.

If there is none, then its simply an FYI.
Send me an email instead.

Take Charge; Make Action

I was very impressed this morning.
A member of our company took the initiative of calling people out for a meeting.
For a lady living in a man's world, it took her a lot of guts initiating this.

And that's what makes her excel. She took the initiative!
Explained clearly, confidently... completely. The best part is she found solutions for the problems raised by her colleagues.

She has a bright future ahead of her career.

Keep it up!

A Culture Without People

...not POSSIBLE!

Without the latter, the former would be non existent.
Logically, everything starts with the people.

Now, that is the strategy.
